Laptop: ThinkCentre M72eOS: Windows 10 After upgrading from Windows eight.1 to 10 Lenovo partner 2Lenovo help apps nagged me to download and install process Interface foundation (systeminterfacefoundation.Exe). Seeing that doing this, I see Lenovo.Modern.ImController.PluginHost.Exe taking 15% of the CPU (regularly). Re: Lenovo.Modern.ImController.PluginHost.exe My relatively new Lenovo G50 was bogging down badly, hard drive cranking without pause and then freezing.
A friend of mine recently dropped off her Lenovo Thinkpad and was wondering if there was anything I could do to help improve performance since it was grinding to a near halt after she had a tech upgrade her from Windows 7 to Windows 10. I'm not sure if it was the update route but she does have all her files so I am thinking such is the case rather than a clean install.
So, after waiting about ten minutes to boot up and hit the task manager, I noticed that there are probably 100+ instances of Lenovo.Modern.IMcontroller.pluginhost (32-bit) applications running which chews up +/- 95% of her 4GB of ram.
So, my question to you fellas who have Lenovo experience, is there a file or application which I can disable to have that go away without crippling or compromising the system? I've scoured the internet and most inquiries lead to a bunch of websites which all look the same but offer some kind of convenient uninstaller which I really don't trust.
Should I uninstall the Lenovo System Interface Foundation App or is there something I can update?
Any information would be greatly appreciated since I am not that familiar with proprietary laptop software.
I just got a new Lenovo Flex 3 with Windows 10, had it all cleaned up from bloatware and it was running beautifully - when yesterday I got an update to the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition...
With a few tweaks to the changes the update made, it is still running sluggish. My Skype no longer runs smooth and I notice when I run a few internet (Edge) windows it lags. When checking the Task Manager I am finding the LenovoPortalService and Lenovo.Modem.ImController (including various related processes) are eating up a significant amount of my memory.
So my question is, do I need these processes? What do they do and are they worth the slow computer? I understood I would have limited resources when I purchased this computer because of only having 4GB of RAM but this is a supplemental work laptop used for a few processes (Skype, multiple internet windows, word/excel documents). I had it just speedy enough for me right before the surprise update to the Anniversary edition (like the night before).
With nothing but the Task Manager running my Memory is at 40%-45%, opening 1 web page jumps it to 50%-55% (and it opens slower now), more pages = slower computer and increased Memory. Skype alone jumps it to the same 50%-55% (But I think Skype vs. Skype Preview is the problem here) but I get video lag.
Is there something I can do? And are these processes the problem?
